Asphalt Paving
Since 1971, we have provided quality asphalt paving to the Upper Ottawa Valley. Our asphalt plant can provide consistent quality mixes to suit most needs. Also available is our popular cold-mix patching material, which is available throughout the year.
Surface Treatment
Surface Treatment/Chip Seals are one of the oldest and most successful methods of road surfacing and preservation. They provide an economical surface for both low and high volume roads. All types of asphalt emulsion and aggregates are available to suit your needs. We can provide the right treatment for your budget, whether a single layer over existing asphalt or multiple layers over a gravel base.
Crushing/Aggregates
Our mobile crushing spread can produce any type and size of aggregate you may require. A full range of aggregates are available from our hot-mix plant location in Pembroke, ON.
Concrete
There is a wide range of concrete services we offer including: curbs and gutter, sidewalks, pads, and driveways. These are hand formed or machined formed depending on the job.
Pulverizing/Base Stabilization
Pulverizing/Base Stabilization is a rehabilitation process that uniformly pulverizes the existing asphalt pavement with a layer of the underlying materials to provide a stronger roadbed. Base Stabilization agents typically used are: Asphalt Emulsion, Portland Cement, Liquid Chlorides and Tall Oil Pitch. By adding one of these agents, your roadbed becomes stronger, reducing your granular needs.
Tack Coat/Granular Sealing
Tack coat is an adhesive that bonds layers of asphalt together. When applied just prior to a new layer of pavement, it is the best preventative for future potholes and pavement delamination. Granular sealing provides erosion control to prevent aggregate loss. We offer traditional asphalt sealers and new environmentally-friendly emulsions (Entac).
Road Building/Site Work
Road building and Site work is another service that Greenwood Paving offers. Removal and replacement of centerline culverts, removal and replacement of aggregates, or placement of geotextiles. Greenwood has the knowhow and ability to undertake your project.
Cold Mix Pavements
Cold-mix pavements provide a flexible cost-effective alternative that can perform better than traditional hot-mix especially where the road bed is affected by the effects of spring thaw. When recycled asphalt is used as the aggregate, considerable cost savings can be achieved. Cold-mix pavements are available with both traditional asphalt emulsions and new environmentally-friendly tall oil pitch (Entac).
Cold Mix Patching
High quality cold mix patching material (VLW) is produced at our asphalt plant. This material is produced all year to ensure a fresh and steady supply. Cold Mix can be placed year round to fill in problem areas.
Hot Rubberized Crack Sealing
Crack sealing is the key to successful, efficient, and economical pavement preservation.
Crack sealing, when done right with the right material and equipment, slows the rate of cracking,
prevents potholes, combats a variety of other pavement distresses, extends surface smoothness,
and improves the effectiveness of other treatments.
Crack sealing is the proven, lowest-cost-with-highest-benefit pavement preservation solution there is.
